Our company
AEIFOROS S.A. was established in 2001 by SIDENOR S.A. (VIOHALCO GROUP), initially for the recycling of steelmaking by-products, and expanded since then in the processing of other types of industrial by-products and wastes.
In 2018, VIOHALCO GROUP decided to unify all recycling and waste management activities within the GROUP and established the VIOHALCO RESOURCE RECOVERY SEGMENT where AEIFOROS was included. Today AEIFOROS S.A. focuses on the processing and valorization of industrial by-products and wastes applying the principles of circular economy.
AEIFOROS S.A. operates two processing facilities in Greece and one in Bulgaria through its subsidiary AEIFOROS BULGARIA S.A. Over 400.000 tons of industrial by-products and wastes, coming mainly from metallurgical industries are processed yearly. Very strong partnerships have been established with other industries which can valorize the processed materials and used them as secondary raw materials and solid recovered fuels. End of life consumer goods such as electrical and electronic equipment or old vehicles are also processed in AEIFOROS facilities.
Στη Βουλγαρία λειτουργεί η θυγατρική εταιρεία με την επωνυμία ΑΕΙFOROS ΒULGARIA EAD με έδρα το Pernik, η οποία δραστηριοποιείται στο ίδιο αντικείμενο της επεξεργασίας και της διαχείρισης αποβλήτων και της παραγωγής δευτερογενών υλικών, καθώς και στην τελική διάθεση επικίνδυνων βιομηχανικών αποβλήτων σε ιδιόκτητο χώρο υγειονομικής ταφής βιομηχανικών αποβλήτων.
Another field of activity is the management of hazardous wastes. AEIFOROS undertakes all necessary activities for recovery and disposal of wastes such as packaging, labeling, collection, transportation to licensed domestic facility or eventually waste shipment licensing and export when the wastes cannot be recycled or disposed of in Greece.
Ως αναγνώριση για τη δραστηριότητα της ΑΕΙΦΟΡΟΥ στην προστασία του περιβάλλοντος, το 2006 ο Πανελλήνιος Σύνδεσμος Επιχειρήσεων Προστασίας Περιβάλλοντος τίμησε την εταιρεία με το 1ο Βραβείο Περιβαλλοντικού Προϊόντος για τα Αδρανή Σκωρίας Χαλυβουργίας που χρησιμοποιούνται ως αντιολισθηρά αδρανή υλικά στους ασφαλτοτάπητες των Εθνικών οδών. Το 2012 η ΑΕΙΦΟΡΟΣ βραβεύτηκε από το Σύνδεσμο Βιομηχανιών Βορείου Ελλάδος με το Βραβείο «Ελληνική Αξία» για το Περιβάλλον συνολικά για τη δραστηριότητά της, ενώ το 2013 η εταιρία βραβεύτηκε στo πλαίσιo των Environmental Awards και στον τομέα «Waste Management – Resource Recovery» σχετικά με την ολοκληρωμένη δραστηριότητά της στην ανακύκλωση Οχημάτων Τέλους Κύκλου Ζωής. Το 2015, η ΑΕΙΦΟΡΟΣ απέσπασε 2 βραβεία στη διοργάνωση Waste & Recycling Awards στις κατηγορίες Zero Waste και Κυκλική Οικονομία. Η Εταιρεία εφαρμόζει σύστημα διαχείρισης ποιότητας πιστοποιημένο κατά ISO 9001, σύστημα περιβαλλοντικής διαχείρισης πιστοποιημένο κατά ISO 14001 και σύστημα διαχείρισης για την ασφάλεια και την υγεία ISO 45001.
